Conant's girls track team had a very impressive night at the 14th annual Cougar Twilight on Friday.

The host Cougars won eight events in the Class A competition and came from behind to win a hard-fought victory with 264 points, ahead of second-place Prospect (238 points) in Hoffman Estates.

Lake Park took third (136.5 points) followed by Hersey (108 points) and Bartlett (91 points). Buffalo Grove (77 points) took sixth.

The 800 relay in which they finished second fueled the Cougars' fire.

"Getting beat in the 800 relay made us think we still had to push hard," said Conant's Samantha Manto, who ran the opening leg of the relay. "It wasn't going to be handed to us."
