The feeling around the track at the 37th annual Knights Wanner Invitational at Prospect on Friday night was simply infectious.

Not the type of infection that one might get that would require bed rest or a trip to the doctor.

This type of infection was a good one and everyone running at one of the biggest in-season invites of the 2005 boys track season wanted to catch it.

"The excitement just keeps building with every race," said Hersey senior Ryan Reed. "You just want to go out and race and try and be a part of something special."
