So many people to remember

On this Memorial Day weekend, our country will be remembering the 405,000 GIs killed in World War II at a memorial site in Washington, D.C. Do you know there are five other groups we should be remembering?

Today, I am thinking of Art Erickson, a veteran who died last January. He was a member of the Sheila Ray Senior Center in Elk Grove Village and a member of the Veterans and Elk Grove High School group. He last spoke at the high school in December and told the students, "When you think of soldiers killed, add two or three other veterans who were wounded." That could mean more than a million American youths were wounded.
