Honda cycle speaks volumes.

I seldom use the word "awesome." It's an excellent and powerful adjective, with a specific meaning, which is, "to inspire great admiration or wonder," so I don't use that word lightly.

I reserve it for things that are truly deserving of my great admiration or wonderment. Gazing down from the top of a ski slope in Heavenly Valley California, onto the truest blue color of a glass-smooth Lake Tahoe, ringed with the reflection of the surrounding snow capped mountains, is awesome. Looking up at a clear Colorado night sky at 4,000 feet of elevation, with no ambient light for 50 miles around, and seeing more stars in the heavens than I could ever imagine, is an awesome sight to behold.

Unfortunately the word has been debased by the teenage generation who use it so frequently as to have caused it to lose its meaning. And when a teenage boy uses the word, it is too often followed by the annoying word "dude." "Hey, that T-shirt is awesome, dude."

Or, "those straight pipes are awesome, dude." I've heard everything from a movie, to a tattoo, to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich described as awesome dude.

Since I am so careful about the use of the word awesome, I've never used it to describe any of the motorcycles that I've ridden and written about. Until now.
