Ten women wearing crazy, colorful outfits ran, cartwheeled and bounced into the Erb Memorial Union Amphitheater on the University of Oregon campus for the 27th annual Take Back the Night rally and march Thursday.

This squad, which calls itself the Radical Cheerleaders, with their comical duds of striped socks, tie-dyed shorts, neckties and rainbow suspenders, brought levity after speeches dealing with sexual assault, gender and race issues.

With rhymes, dances and other acrobatics, they lifted the energy of the crowd of hundreds of students, community members and representatives from nonprofit agencies....
