Commencement exercises will be held Friday for 282 seniors at Willamette High School. Speakers and vocalists for the commencement program will be selected from the class membership.

The senior class sponsored a baccalaureate service last week at Bethesda Lutheran Church.

Nine students qualified for recognition as Top Scholars by achieving above a 4.0 grade-point average:

James Admire is the son of Charles and Celene Admire of Eugene. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and the Interact Club. His activities include baseball, video crew and jazz band. He plans to attend Oregon State University to earn a degree in physics.

Bethany Ard is the daughter of Wendell and Debbie Ard of Eugene. She is student body secretary, a 10-time scholar athlete, a member of the 1,000-plus Club, played volleyball and softball, was a LINK leader and a Mr. Wolverine coordinator. She plans to attend Lane Community College for a two-year degree in early childhood education before transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a career in youth ministries....
