"Aimed at uniting the mind, body and spirit, yoga's therapeutic benefits help practitioners become more aware of their body's posture, alignment and patterns of movement," explains Carey Freyman, 35, a west suburban certified Hatha yoga instructor. "It makes the body more flexible and helps you relax even in the midst of a stressful, fast-paced environment."
Freyman isn't alone in her observations as yoga enthusiasts of all ages extol its benefits and say they feel more fit, are more energetic, happier and peaceful.
