Joseph Bagenski
SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held April 2 for Joseph Robert Bagenski of Springfield, who died March 24 of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was 62.
He was born June 29, 1942, in Bell, Calif., to Stanley and Mary Hensley Bagenski.
He worked as a warehouse supervisor in food distribution management. His hobbies included the stock market, handiwork, helping others and sharing joy.
Survivors include his son, Mark, of Creswell; his brother, Stanley of Salt Lake City; and three grandchildren.
Saturday's service will held be at 2 p.m. at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Children's Fund.
Charles Collins
Charles C. "Tip" Collins of Eugene died March 16 of age-related causes. He was 100.
He was born Feb. 17, 1905, in Medford, to Sam and Leah Likely Collins. He married Winifred May on Jan. 6, 1930, in Roseburg. She died in August 1997.
Collins worked for International Paper Company. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and telling jokes. He recently celebrated his 100th birthday with friends and family. His family remembers it as "a living memorial" where he was able "to hear memories and kind words" from those who attended.
Survivors include his daughter, Patsy Sue Collins Britton of Tigard; his sister, Ruth Greene of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His son, Richard, died previously.
No service is planned. Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Talking Books & Braille Services and Oregon State Library.
