SPRINGFIELD - A man named as a suspect in a recent stabbing had been released from prison four years early under the state's "second look" provision, which gives juveniles convicted of serious crimes a chance at parole halfway through their sentences.

Jesus Gutierrez, 22, was released from prison in October, after serving five years of a nine-year prison term for his role in a 1999 armed carjacking in Springfield.
