Hundreds of millions of federal dollars for Chicago-area transit projects are at stake as Congressional debate over six years' worth of spending for road and transit projects moves to the Senate.

"There's a lot of goodies in here for Illinois, if this goes through," said Regional Transportation Authority spokesman Scott McPherson.
