David Rydstedt and Roosevelt Roby won two events apiece to lead Springfield past Thurston and Churchill in a Midwestern League boys track and field meet at Churchill.

Rydstedt won the 200 (23.81) and 400 (51.06), and Roby won the high hurdles (17.15) and 100 (11.44) to lead the Millers, who scored 73 points. Thurston was second with 63 1/2 and Churchill had 46 1/2 .

Nathan Endicott captured the 1,500 (4:22.68) and 3,000 for Thurston. Springfield had a fast early-season mark of 44.15 in the 400 relay.
