Turnover of wholesale trades rose by 8.2 per cent from GBP99,786 million to GBP107,965 million compared with the same period last year. Wholesale of non-agricultural intermediate products, waste and scrap rose by GBP5,725 million to GBP42,177 million. Wholesale of machinery, equipment and supplies rose by GBP1,181 million to GBP15,421 million.
Turnover of transport and postal services increased by 11.3 per cent from GBP32,034 million to GBP35,665 million compared with the same period last year. Telecommunications rose by GBP877 million to GBP13,793 million.
