Article Excerpt PASS CHRISTIAN -- Patricia A. Nichols has grown up with DuPont. The DeLisle plant manager began her career with the chemical company as a summer employee at the age of 17 in New Johnsonville, Tenn. Now, at age 45, she leads the second-largest titanium dioxide manufacturing plant in the World.
She's been in her present position for two years and has responsibility for manufacturing, quality, safety and environmental stewardship, financial performance and overall profitability of the Harrison County facility. Under her leadership, the 1,000 DuPont and contract employees achieved an all-time record year for production in 2004.
"I am responsible for excellence in the manufacturing operation, but my first priorities are the safety of the employees and environmental stewardship," she said. "Those are the things I think about all the time."
