Reasons to change way we fund schools

There are two big problems with education funding: 1) There apparently just isn't enough money available, and 2) homeowners are overburdened, especially with property taxes escalating as they have.

The way schools are funded is a big part of the problem, and it is a shame some people are thinking about moving simply because they can't afford the taxes anymore. Shifting the burden from taxes on property to a combination of sales and income taxes seemed like a good idea to me.
