Happy anniversary, Community Church

To the editor: On Feb. 19 and 20, the Community Church of Rolling Meadows celebrated its 50th anniversary. There was a dinner dance at the Meridian on Saturday and the signing of the new charter on Sunday morning. Some eight members were available from the original signing. Also, some 127 persons signed the new charter.

Special guest, Mr. Ken Nelson, our mayor, gave the history of how the city and church shared the same meeting place in the Red Barn on Kirchoff. He also told the story about the city seal. It was designed by a sixth-grader, Charyl Knudson of Kimball Hill School.

It was a memorial event and we thank the Lord for our beautiful church. Drop in some time - we have been waiting for you.
