OAKLAND, Calif., March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In a year that dished out flat to declining light ice cream sales for most ice cream manufacturers, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Holdings, Inc. (Dreyer's) , announced it scooped up 68% sales growth of its light ice cream business in 2004 with the launch of Dreyer's Slow Churned(TM) Light Ice Cream, a dramatically improved version of Dreyer's top-selling light ice cream formerly called Dreyer's Grand Light(R).

A year ago, Dreyer's CEO T. Gary Rogers announced that his company had made a technological breakthrough in creating a premium light ice cream with half the fat that tastes as good as best-selling, full-fat versions.
