...company's portfolio thriving in foodservice and has expanded into drinking and baking cocoas. Most telling, Dagoba is proving trendsetter in the chocolate world with exotic flavor infusions and single-origin chocolate bars.

Some of the more unusual chocolate bar products within the Dagoba line include Lavender, an infusion of lavender and blueberries; Mint, an infusion of mint with rosemary; Lime, an infusion of lime with macadamia nuts; Roseberry, an infusion of rosehips and raspberries; and Chai, an infusion of crystallized ginger in milk chocolate.

Although widespread consumer acceptance of unfamiliar flavor profiles and taste experiences defies logic, Dagoba's risky and unconventional product line has proven to be a valuable asset. The company's growth exceeded 100 percent in 2004 and is expected to perform at least as well in 2005.

It seems Dagoba has unwittingly discovered the magic formula for developing atypical, organic chocolate products that consumers are willing to try and then embrace. And the company plans to push ahead with more unusual flavor infusions and single-origin chocolate products designed to...
