TOKYO, Dec. 11 Kyodo

The average worker's assessment of the current state of Japan's economy improved slightly in November, snapping five straight months of record lows with business brisk in travel, department stores and other sectors, the Cabinet Office said in a monthly survey released Tuesday.

The diffusion index (DI) of the so-called ''economy watcher'' index on the current state of the economy rose 2.4 points from October to 29.6.
