Shinsei Bank, the reincarnation of the failed Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan (LTCB), said Tuesday its group net profit in the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 effectively doubled to 33.1 billion yen due to the improved profitability of its core banking operations.
