The Gifu District Court on Wednesday dismissed a claim by a homeowner who wanted his tenant evicted from a house in Minokamo in Gifu Prefecture, central Japan, because he is a member of the AUM Shinrikyo religious cult.

Presiding Judge Kunio Aoyama said, ''There is no evidence that this person will commit atrocious crimes, even though he is an AUM member.''...
