Nippon Broadcasting System Inc. said Wednesday its consolidated pretax profit shot up 33.5% in the six months which ended Sept. 30 from a year earlier to 4.88 billion yen on the strength of earnings by its TV broadcasting affiliate, Fuji Television Network Inc.
