A 37-year-old man stabbed eight children to death with a 15-centimeter kitchen knife and injured 15 other people, including two teachers, in an indiscriminate attack Friday at an elementary school in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture.
The attack on the first- and second-grade pupils at Ikeda Elementary School, attached to state-run Osaka Kyoiku University, occurred around 10:20 a.m. during a recess.
