TOKYO, May 31 Kyodo

Share prices on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost ground almost across the board Thursday on another slide in U.S. technology stocks and an additional investment downgrading of the Japanese high-tech sector.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, which tumbled 280.54 points Wednesday, lost a further 231.21 points, or 1.71%, to close at 13,262.14. The broader Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) of all First Section issues was off 18.92 points, or 1.42%, to 1,310.81.
