TOKYO, May 28 Kyodo

Share prices on the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell for the fifth straight day in thin trading Monday, giving the Nikkei Stock Average its longest losing streak in nearly three months.

The 225-issue Nikkei shed 28.15 points, or 0.20%, to close at 13,737.77 after briefly showing gains in the morning. The broader Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) of all First Section issues was down 10.21 points, or 0.75%, to 1,349.77.
