Twenty years ago, Ed Bender of Bartlett founded TLC Industries Inc. (www.tlcind.com) in Schaumburg.

Initially, the company was called Tiny Little Car Co., and Bender built small, car-shaped beds and other children's furniture. But as big box retailers began offering discounted furniture, Bender's clients began to fade. Then about 15 years ago, Sega asked him to build the cabinets that house its arcade games....
