When Lisle Library trustees adopted their architect's concept for a new $14.1 million facility, they also decided to take his advice on how to persuade voters to pay for it.

A new 45,000-square-foot facility, trustees say, would solve problems - including a lack of space for books, computers and other materials, an aging ventilation system and rising energy costs - at the cramped and outdated building.

Today, the board's referendum committee will meet at 4 p.m. at the library, 777 Front St., to talk about how to make those who vote in the April 5 election aware of the value of a new library and convince them it's worth paying for through higher property taxes.
