Slinging rocks may sound like something out of the middle ages, but it's actually a very quick and cost-effective way for landscapers and construction companies to get some of their work done. Sagamore Soils, for example, a landscape supply company in Hudson, Ohio, uses a sizeable portion of its 20-truck fleet equipped with Can-American Soil King stone spreader bodies to throw stone on driveways, lay gravel on roads, backfill trenches and spread top soil in yards.
A division of a contracted trucking company called B.E.T. Trucking, Sagamore Soils was born in 1996 when the proprietors of B.E.T Trucking capitalized on the growing opportunity in the landscape supply market in Northeast Ohio. Not only does Sagamore Soils transport products for landscape contractors, but it also produces and sells its own line of landscaping supplies such as soil and mulch.
