After watching Shane Johnson and Darren Wozniak pile up points throughout the Hampshire Lions Club Christmas Basketball Tournament, Marmion coach Patrick McNamara decided to use a 2-1-2 zone defense and force St. Edward to beat the Cadets with long- range shooting.

The strategy worked to perfection as the Green Wave shot 3-of-16 from beyond the arc and Marmion won the tournament's fifth-place game 67-56.
