Two things strike you when you meet Paula Redd Zeman. Her voice.

Blame it on her DNA. Blame it on her mom. Can't blame dad, because she's self-described as "daddy's little girl."

Actually, you can blame mom. Mom studied music and opera, sang professionally for a short time and ended up working for county government. Zeman studied music, sang opera throughout Europe and ended up working for county government. Call it deja vu. Call it great genes. Call it destiny.

The fifth of six generations of the Redd family of Rye, Zeman was destined to be a Democrat and in government. Oh, and the shape of he head pre-ordained her to sing opera.
