In late November, Seco-Carboloy(tm)--based in Sweden, whose North American headquarters is in Warren, MI (586-497-5000)(www.carboloy.com)-reported it had become the first cutting tool manufacturer to offer a solid PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) grade for finish machining of hardened steel. The company's new Secomax(tm) CBN100 indexable inserts, and grade CBN300 for cast irons, are also purportedly the industry's first and only solid PCBN insets with a pin lock hole.
