JEFFERSON - Brandt Thissell scored 17 points and J.R. Hicks added 12 to lead Waldport to a 61-52 Trico League prep boys basketball victory over Jefferson on Saturday.

Hicks had 10 points in the fourth quarter when the first-place Irish (17-4, 8-1 Trico) outscored Jefferson 22-16.

Kolby Headley and Nick Kamlade had 17 points apiece for the Lions, who had closed to within two points early in the fourth period.
