STANFORD, Calif. - It wasn't much of an effort, nor was there much evidence of the kind of effort needed to win a Pac-10 game on the road, let alone in Oregon's very own house of horrors.

The Oregon men's basketball team lost its fourth straight game, 88-69, to Stanford here Saturday evening and suffered its 19th straight loss in Maples Pavilion.

And the final score really wasn't indicative of Stanford's dominance, or Oregon's lack of competitiveness when the game was being decided. The Cardinal, winning for the sixth straight time to improve to 12-7 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-10 Conference, rolled up 51 points against the Ducks in the first half and led by as many as 32 in the second half, Oregon's largest deficit of the season.

Junior forward Matt Haryasz had a monster game - 20 points and 20 rebounds for the first such performance by a Stanford player since, well, Tim Young had 20 points and 21 rebounds against the Ducks in 1997.

Stanford point guard Chris Hernandez, the best in the Pac-10, had 19 points and, in the first half, was 6-of-7 from the field and made all four of his three-point attempts.

You name it and Stanford did it better than Oregon: Shoot, rebound, defend, hustle, run the floor, think, play as a team.
