PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Board of Directors of the local CENTURY TEXTILES & INDUSTRIES LTD. (CTIL), a subsidiary of the BK BIRLA GROUP, recently approved the company's proposed $ expansion projects.
The planned undertaking includes investing: - $88,000,000 in order to expand its paper division production
output by 211 tons per day from waste paper or other
unconventional raw-materials available at the company's pulp
and paper division at Lalkua in Uttarancha; - $32,000,000 to expand its denim capacity to enable the
production of 10 million meters per year. In so doing, the
company will install new machines, including a 4-megawatt
power station in Madhya Pradesh.
In so doing, CENTURY TEXTILES will be undertaking the expansion of its denim capacity in the new quota-free regime that has been commenced recently.
CTIL is engaged in the manufacture of textiles, rayon yarn, tire cord, minerals, chemicals, cement, pulp and paper as well as being involved in shipping.
