On the surface, the comparison is easy to make, but it goes no deeper than that, Oregon coach Ernie Kent said.

The Ducks of four years ago opened 10-1, including a victory in their Pac-10 opener. This year's Oregon team opened 9-1, with a triumph in its Pac-10 opener.

And then? The 2000-01 Ducks lost 13 of their final 17 games and finished 14-14, the only time in the past six seasons Oregon hasn't played in either the NCAA Tournament or NIT.
