The two large volumes of a Reader's Guide to British History have the commendable aim of supplying students (at all levels) with bibliographical references and brief historiographical analyses pertinent to a wide range of topics spanning the entirety of British history. The entries include subjects, themes, and individuals, and they are organized alphabetically by title. Preceding each is a list of relevant bibliographical items, many of which are discussed in the body of the entry.
