Jacques Thibaud (1880-1953) was the greatest French violinist of the 20th Century. He is probably best remembered, and best represented on CD, as a member of the most famous piano trio of all time, with Alfred Cortot and Pablo Casals. As a soloist, he has been woefully underrepresented on CD until now. This is a pity, because Thibaud was one of the greatest personalities in music.
