Beginning March 17, the best things in Houston are free at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park. Holocaust Museum Houston is an educational center and living memorial dedicated to teaching the dangers of prejudice, hate, and apathy. "Bearing Witness: A Community Remembers" is a permanent exhibit of authentic film footage, artifacts, photographs, and documents of prewar Europe, the Nazi movement, and life after the Holocaust. New to the exhibit is a collection of children's shoes recovered from the Majdanek death camp in Lublin, Poland. Other exhibits include "Postal History in the Third Reich" (through January), a display of stamps, correspondence, and other postal artifacts of the Nazi era; "Anne Frank: A History for Today" (January 14-April 3), a mixture of photographs of the Frank family and of historical events of the time; and "Illustrating Anne Frank" (January 14-April 3). The museum is free and open to the public seven days a week.
