The Science Factory became the Chocolate Factory on Tuesday, but Willy Wonka was nowhere to be found.

Instead, a back room was filled with 14 chocolate-finger-covered children lucky enough to get a ticket, so to speak, for a tour of all things cocoa-butter based.

It was the first-ever workshop exploring "The Science of Chocolate," and it was so popular that a waiting list resulted in 10 children not even getting in because of a limited capacity.

And, children, what have you learned about chocolate?

Six-year-old Zoe Boriskin, a first-grader at Crest Drive Elementary School in Eugene, apparently mesmerized by dipping pretzels into melted chocolate with a fork, thought about the question, but could not pinpoint an answer....
