CHAMPAIGN - The best way to reach Montini coach Chris Andriano, during the football season at least, is by calling the Montini coaches' office between 10:30-11:30 p.m.

Andriano will by then have watched hours of video on the Broncos' next opponent, translated their tendencies into a plan of attack and polished off the last of the carry-out pizza before taking a break.

He'll then field a phone call before taking another weary stab at the game plan until he finally calls it a day. Sometimes instead of going home he'll drift off to sleep in a chair or crawl onto the cot in the coaches' office until school begins the next morning.

Andriano admittedly has endured plenty of "2 a.m., 3 a.m. nights" preparing his teams throughout the years. Friday night they all became worth it.

"First of all," he said at the Memorial Stadium podium after the Broncos had thrashed Coal City 44-7, "it's been a dream-come-true season for us.
