Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for International Development, today offered to assist the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in transporting any items purchased from the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal to affected people in Asia. DFID is prepared either to arrange international flights carrying humanitarian relief supplies or to pay for transport arranged by DEC partners.
