Asia is rising rapidly as a geopolitical force in the world, but you almost wouldn't know it from the U.S. media.

With the notable exception of the elite news media here, especially on America's West Coast, Asia might as well be on Mars. From a marketing perspective alone, the general topic remains a near-impossible sell in the States. Just ask the directors of the famed and deep-pocketed Dow Jones & Co., which publishes the Wall Street Journal.
