While many companies' decorative interior is limited to bland plants and paintings, the Starmack Group, based in La Mesa, is a little off the beaten path.

The 2,000-square-foot building comes complete with an island theme lounge as the company's brainstorming center.

Dubbed the Starfish Lounge, the space includes a wall mural of Cinnamon Bay in St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, bamboo bar stools and neon light fixtures, while the lower walls, ceilings and wet bar are wrapped in thatch.

The laid-back atmosphere works well for the company, whose clients include Sycuan Resort & Casino, and Noble House Hotels and Resorts in Kirkland, Wash.
