If there is such a thing as the "Dean of Mississippi Business Journal" columnists then I suppose that person would be yours truly. I began writing this column in 1986.

In July 1985, I left my position as administrator of the Mississippi Real Estate Commission and started the Real Estate Institute at Millsaps College. I taught real estate to college students and put on a lot of seminars, forums and workshops. I also did real estate consulting and appraising. I was immediately asked to write a real estate column for a local business newspaper (not the Mississippi Business Journal.
