This year marks the silver anniversary of the Mississippi Business Journal, which was launched in July 1979--then as a monthly, now published every week.

Way back then, there were only 20 or so business newspapers around the country while today, there tire more than 200. The market for business newspapers developed when daily papers all across the country quit covering business news. Crime, corruption, blood and gore sells better than plant openings find stock offerings.

Three publishers other than myself have guided our paper. MBJ was founded by Joe Dove and was subsequently acquired by Richard Roper, publisher of Mississippi Magazine....
