Margaret Locke

SPRINGFIELD - Margaret A. Locke of Springfield died Nov. 26 of age-related causes. She was 88.

She was born March 19, 1916, in Albany to Marcus and Cora Brown Dunn. She grew up in Eugene and graduated from Eugene High School.

She married William W. Cooper in Dunsmuir, Calif., in 1934. He died in 1990. She married Verle M. Locke in Cottage Grove in 1993. He died in 1995.

Locke enjoyed fishing, knitting, crocheting, camping, country music, dogs and cats.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley Cooper of Creswell and Gary Cooper of Chemult; and five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

No service is planned. Springfield Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross.

Lila Terry

SPRINGFIELD - A celebration of life will be held Dec. 1 for Lila Jean Terry of Springfield, who died Nov. 26 of cancer. She was 69.

She was born April 6, 1935, in Eugene to Harold and Lola Bonney Terry. She attended Eugene High School, and received her General Education Degree from Lane Community College at the age of 60. She lived in Las Vegas from 1981 to 1991.

Terry worked as a driver for car dealerships and as a wedding chapel coordinator. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and writing poetry.

Survivors include her mother; her life partner of 25 years, John Hill; a son, Raymond Everts of Springfield; two daughters, Susan Hamel of Kuna, Idaho, and Becky Barber of Eugene; a brother, Richard Terry of Eugene; three sisters, Janet Carter, Loretta Nielsen and Julie Max, all of Eugene; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wednesday's service will be at 3 p.m. at the Santiago Estates Club House, 5335 Main St. in Springfield. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
