Article Excerpt In a deal valued at about $4.5 billion, Ispat International NV, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, has agreed to acquire LNM Holdings NV, one of the world's largest and most profitable steel companies, and create a new steel company, Mittal Steel. The new company will then merge with International Steel Group Inc., Richfield, Ohio, North America's No. 1 steel producer, creating the largest steelmaker in the world, capable of shipping nearly 60 million tons of steel per year.
The acquisition of LNM Holdings is expected to close by year's end, while the merger with ISG is expected to close in the first quarter of 2005....
