Eight-month-old Maggie Bauwens can't walk or talk yet, but she's already signed up for preschool.
Her mother, Maureen Bauwens, wants to ensure Maggie gets into Huntley's TLC preschool, where her older siblings have gone, so she's already added her name to the school's waiting list.
And she's not alone.
Many parents who've heard of the school's reputation from other families in town often sign their children up in their infant years.
So far, there are 27 children on the waiting list for the 2007 school year, some of whom don't even have names yet.
"I have people calling me who are pregnant to put their child's name on the list," TLC director and founder Sue Hansen said. "I'm flattered, but I'm also sad because not everyone can get in."
At this time of year, as schools begin to advertise preschool openings, many parents are starting to consider their options for their soon-to-be preschoolers.
