Although reading is a form of recreation to many, Waukegan's public library and park district are working together to take the concept to a new level.

When the city's Hinkston Park Field House opens in the spring 2006, it will house six multipurpose courts, fitness rooms, an elevated running track, a climbing wall, healthy-food concessions, a child-care facility - and a branch library.
