Article Excerpt American Technology Corp., the locally based developers and makers of specialized audio technology, was busy last week attempting to counter news that pummeled its stock price.
ATC got the story going Sept. 22 when it announced the resignation of James Irish as its CEO. Irish, 44, had been on the lob since February, and left to pursue other opportunities, the company said.
A Dow Jones wire service story tacked on a sentence noting that in ATC's 10K report filed last December, the company's auditors, BDO Siedman, noted it raised doubts about the firm's ability to continue as "going concern," meaning doubts it would survive if operations remained as they were.
ATC stock, traded on Nasdaq as ATCO, fell that day by nearly $1 from the prior trading day's close to $6.48. The following day, Sept. 23, it fell another 48 cents, and by Sept. 24 it was at $6.09.
