Health for Midlife Beth is a 53 year old female who presented to the Hotze Health and Wellness Center with a 13 year history of worsening fatigue. She had a long history of cold hands and feet as well as sensitivity to cold. She was experiencing weight gain, significant hair loss and difficulty sleeping. Beth also had problems concentrating and thinking clearly Frequently she felt depressed. During her first visit she said that she did not like the person she had become.

Once Beth started going through menopause, these symptoms were magnified. Her sleep was restless, she had gained 30 pounds and had difficulty losing weight. Her sexual desire had vanished and she felt that she was in a "brain fog". Hot flashes occurred several times daily and night sweats were common.
